The go-live of your business software is just the beginning

10/03/2017 - Teun Arts

After months of hard work your organization finally went live with the new business software. Your work is done, right? Unfortunately, that is what many organizations believe. While the opposite is actually true; the go-live is just the beginning!

There are more features!

The moment you go live with your business software you will probably not be using all features of the system. And you don’t need to. When it comes to the implementation of a system with a big impact on your organization it is much better to opt for only the functionalities you absolutely need at the go-live. That way the implementation can still be managed and you increase the likelihood of a successful go-live. Then you can gradually start using new capabilities of the software to make sure you get the maximum out of your investment.

Optimization projects

Sitting back and doing nothing after the go-live is not smart. I recommend to make sure you keep looking critically at your business processes and how these are supported by the software. Could your processes be more efficient? In which areas can automation also offer value? Which wishes or 'nice-to-haves’ can be fulfilled with the software? By continuously asking these questions to yourself you will keep improving as an organization.

A software partner that thinks along with you

You cannot get maximum results from your business software all by yourself. You need a software specialist that knows your organization, that thinks along with you and that offers you solutions that contribute to achieving your goals. Thus not a supplier, but a partner. As a service manager, I am the first point of contact for our customers when it comes to all their challenges regarding how to make optimal use of the software. That goes beyond solving bugs and adding a field or table. I think together with them on a strategic level and proactively advise them on how our software can help them to achieve their growth objectives.

Teun Arts is Service Manager at Dysel and it is his job to ensure that customers make optimal use of the software, now and in the future.
